Dr. Barbara J. Scott
Dr. Barbara J. Scott is a native of Houston, Texas. She graduated in 1973 from Jack Yates Sr. High School with Honors and served as the Senior Class Treasurer. She was also a proud member of the Jack Yates’ “Tower of Power” Marching Band.
Dr. Scott graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Southern University in 1977 where she received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology. In 1981 she graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree. From there she accepted a position with Harris County Hospital District Dental Center as a General Dentist.
She also practiced pediatric Dentistry for 1 year with Dr. Sandy MacTavish. Dr. Scott has been affiliated with various organizations including the Charles A. George Dental Society, Gulf State Dental Association, National Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of GP Orthodontics. She has always attended continuing education courses especially in the fields of Oral Surgery, Periodontal Disease, and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Scott was a past Vice-President of the Charles A. George Dental Society. Over the years she has remained actively involved in her community where she has sponsored little league baseball and football teams. She is a proud mother of one daughter, Taylor Frances Roy. Dr. Scott has been practicing General Dentistry from 1981 to present.
Her private practice is located in Houston’s Museum District.
