Dr. Jack C. Morgan
Jack C. Morgan is a native Houstonian. An athlete (Basketball) and a scholar, Jack graduated from Jack Yates Sr. High School ranked #9 out of over 500 students. He then attended Fisk University where he obtained a degree in Chemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Jack returned to Texas and received his DDS degree from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio. In doing so, in 1982, Dr. Morgan became the first Black student to graduate from this institution; in the preceding 15yrs of the schools existence at least 6 other Black students had attended. Following dental school, Jack entered a General Practice Residency, in the US Army, at Ft. Jackson SC. After its successful completion, for the next three years, CPT Morgan was the Chief of Dental Services at Ft. Detrick, MD.
Upon his leaving active duty, Jack returned home and began his private practice, while simultaneously working at Harris County Dental Center and remaining in the Army Reserves (on OST-Houston). Jack transferred to the Air Force Reserves (Barksdale AFB-Shreveport LA), and lastly, to the Air National Guard (Ellington Field-Houston) before his retirement in 2004, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After his retirement from the military, Jack continued to perform dental readiness exams as a contract dentist, at Ellington Field, for 4yrs. Jack is a Veteran of Desert Storm and still a staunch supporter of the military community.
Dr. Morgan is a member of Missouri City Baptist Church. He is married to his soul mate, Marissa, and they have three children: Jack (Chad), Jarred, LeeAndra and one grandson, Leondous. When not active with his Family, Fraternity, Alumni Associations and Church, Jack is a tireless “budding” Genealogist.
